Bernardis launches brunch & breakfast menus as hours extended

Marylebone restaurant Bernardi’s has introduced a new weekend Brunch menu, as well as extending their opening hours to launch a weekday Breakfast menu; embracing London’s love affair with all-day, relaxed dining.

From 7 March, the new Breakfast menu will offer a range of Italian pastries and a selection of egg dishes, as well as a few lighter options. Highlights from the new menu will include Poached eggs, gnocchi all Romana, and duck proscuitto; Spinach, egg and wild mushroom pizzetta; and Almond granola with yoghurt. The pastries will be baked daily in-house, and will be served alongside Italian Musetti coffee and freshly squeezed juices, to eat in or take out.

Come the weekend, it’s time to kick back and relax, with the new Weekend Brunch menu, featuring bottomless Prosecco and Bloody Marys all day Saturday and Sunday. Head Chef Sabrina Gidda has injected a little fun into her menu of modern classics, so you can now try ‘pizza for breakfast’ with their N’duja, Egg & Basil Pizette or the signature ‘Full Italian’; a homemade veal, pork and chilli sausage patty, with a fried egg, n’duja sauce, pancetta, and fontina cheese, all in a fresh bun. On Sundays, devour the Roast Porchetta, Butternut Squash & Cime di rapa, which is available after midday as part of the more extensive lunch menu.

Launched last September, Bernardi’s is owned by brothers Gabriel and Marcello, both originally from Melbourne, but with Italian heritage. Their aim is to bring together a love of Italian food with the Antipodean hospitality they grew up with in Australia, to create an informally elegant restaurant that ensures guests feel completely at home throughout the day.

Set in Marylebone’s Portman Village, the location of the restaurant means you are as likely to see a corporate lunch meeting taking place in the week, as you are to see a local resident enjoying a quick coffee, or a birthday supper.

Monday through to Friday, the A La Carte is available alongside a Set Lunch menu from midday until 3pm, providing great value for local businesses, residents, or fatigued shoppers alike. For lighter bites, an afternoon menu of cichetti and small plates, including Pumpkin & Gorgonzola Arancini; Pork & Veal Polpette with Lemon Pangrattato and Confit Leek & Taleggio Pizzette, leads the way right through to 6pm.

The new Weekend Brunch menu and Bottomless Prosecco will launch on 13 February. An Afternoon menu of Cichetti, antipasti and small plates is available 3-6pm in the restaurant, and from 5pm until late in the downstairs bar.
