Marugame Udon continues to grow across London with its latest restaurant in Waterloo Station (pictured), opening on Thursday 12 January.

Following seven successful openings across the city, Marugame Udon’s newest launch is situated in the UK’s busiest railway station – Waterloo – to give Londoners and visitors a taste of Japan’s favourite hand-made udon noodles.

The 3,110 sq ft restaurant will be located inside Waterloo’s main station, a busy intersection for thousands of commuters every day. The site will feature 108 covers.

The launch of the Waterloo site will also be the first to introduce breakfast at Marugame Udon with a delicious range of Udon breakfast specials, sandos, and breakfast tempura.

Featuring a Japanese twist on traditional breakfast dishes, Marugame Udon will serve up Benedict Udon and Florentine Udon from the kitchen, made up of Udon in a rich hollandaise sauce with a soft poached Onsen egg, with crispy streaky bacon making up the Benedict Udon and wilted spinach for the Florentine.

The menu also includes Salmon and Rice bowls and Porridge to grab and go for those in a rush.

For those who need a quick fix for breakfast, Marugame Udon is also adding exclusive Sandos (thick and fluffy Japanese style sandwiches) to the menu, featuring Katsu & Bacon, Streaky Bacon & Tamagoyaki Egg, Japanese Pork Sausage & Egg and Spinach & Miso Tofu.

With the addition of exclusive breakfast tempura including Sausage, Bacon and Tamagoyaki egg, diners can start their day the Marugame way for dine in or take away.

Keith Bird, CEO of Marugame Udon said: “We are really excited to be expanding again in 2022, this time at Waterloo station. We chose the Waterloo site, to be in the centre of the hustle and bustle of London’s largest station to introduce udon to all. Our Udon kitchens are growing throughout London and our casual dining concept will fit perfectly into the liveliness of our newest location in Waterloo.”

To celebrate the opening of its newest kitchen and breakfast menu, Marugame Udon has partnered with Bandai, creators of the digital pet toy Tamagotchi, to launch a competition to win prizes including free breakfast for a year if guests can keep their Original Tamagotchi alive.

Marugame Udon recently launched bowl-size options across all London locations for people to take control of their appetites and wallets. Featuring lighter portions with lighter prices and bigger portions for bigger appetites.
