Starwood Capital to create 121 jobs following major Manchester hotel refurb

Starwood Capital is to create 121 jobs at the four-star The Palace Hotel in Manchester, following a multi-million pound refurbishment.

Interior designer firm, Michaelis Boyd is creating a new sense of style and modernity with loft-style bedrooms that are bold and contemporary whilst bringing the listed interiors to life.

The refurbished Grand Room is now open and one of the finest and biggest hotel event space in the North of England and a new destination bar and restaurant will complete the transformation in the summer.

The property includes grand public spaces and multiple event venues, including an art deco room accommodating up to 1,000.

Following the acquisition of Principal Hayley in 2013, Starwood Capital Group has invested £200m across its portfolio to upgrade facilities, including The Royal York Hotel in York and The George Hotel in Edinburgh.
