Valerie Donaldson appointed general manager of upcoming Radisson Blu Sheffield

Valerie Donaldson has been appointed as the General Manager of Radisson Blu Sheffield by the Radisson Hotel Group (RHG), as the hotel prepares for its grand opening this summer.

The 154-bedroom property is poised to showcase a range of amenities, including a gym, versatile meeting and event spaces, and a rooftop restaurant and bar providing panoramic views of the cityscape.

Donaldson brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having been with the Radisson Hotel Group since 2008. She has held key positions, contributing significantly to the refurbishment and repositioning of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds, as well as playing an instrumental role in the opening of Radisson SAS in Birmingham.

She said: 'Sheffield is undergoing significant investment right now, with the Heart of the City II regeneration, and I'm thrilled that we are part of the transformation. I'm truly excited with the hotel plans; this is an amazing property which will play a big part in the city, and I cannot wait for it to open. My goal is to create a destination where people can relax, dine, meet-up, and enjoy themselves – a true hub within the city.'

Suzanne Speak, RHG Managing Director UK and Ireland, added: 'Valerie has extensive experience in hotel openings and repositioning, as well as a proven track record within our group. There is no doubt that Valerie's passion and commitment to excellence, along with her leadership skills, will play a key role in providing a first-class guest experience for the city of Sheffield.'

RHG boasts a vast network of over 1,270 hotels worldwide, both operational and under development, spanning across more than 90 countries. Within the UK, it manages 55 hotels, with 25 of them situated in London.
