Gordon Ramsay to open second Maze Grill

Gordon Ramsay is to open a second location of his steak-and-sushi concept Maze Grill in London, on the former site of Michelin-starred restaurant Aubergine.

In 1993, Ramsay helped launch Aubergine, earning one Michelin star just two years later. By 1997, the restaurant's Michelin ranking was bumped up to two stars. In 1998, he left Aubergine taking much of its staff with him to open up his eponymous restaurant.

Last year, the celebrity chef purchased the Aubergine site for £1.2m and had hoped to open by summer 2014, however a concept was never finalised until today's Maze Grill announcement.

The new restaurant will be known as Maze Grill Park Walk, referencing its street address, and the Ramsay Group hopes to have doors open by April.
