Everards plans to relocate for new retail development

Brewer and pub operator, Everards has revealed plans to relocate its brewery in Castle Acres, Leicester.

Everards, which plans to move its brewery to Soar Valley Way, has teamed up with Next to promote the land that the brewery currently occupies next to Fosse Park.

The space will allow for up to 30 stores to be built as part of a new multi-million pound shopping centre.

The new retail development will include a 90,000sq ft Next home and garden store, creating a flagship close to Next Plc’s headquarters in Enderby, Leicestershire and a number of other retailers, creating 700 new jobs in the area.

Chairman of Everards Brewery Limited, Richard Everard said, “It is immensely exciting to be working alongside the excellent team at Next to promote our existing Castle Acres site for retail development – investing in our local economy and creating so many new jobs.’

‘This initiative dovetails extremely well with our plans for our new food and drink cluster at Soar Valley which, once delivered, will further develop and strengthen our 5th generation family company”.

Chief Executive of Next Plc, Lord Wolfson said, “This development will give Leicester access to the widest selection of Next products in the UK.’

‘Next is hugely supportive of this opportunity to create local jobs and give Leicester a stunning new architectural gateway development”.
