Macdonald sees food & drink sales rise by 25% since £2m refurbs


Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has announced a 25% rise in food and drink sales since starting its a £2m programme of restaurant refurbishments.

The hotel operator transformed 16 of its restaurants to create spaces that were hotel-specific, and reflected the local area. The group hopes to entice families and groups of friends through a more informal style.

Macdonald has also introduced a new Scottish Steak Club concept with a revived menu including high quality Scotbeef steaks and other grill dishes, relaxed service and calendar of events and offers.

The significant programme of refurbishments started after the 45-strong hotel group took on new restaurant operations director, Harwood Warrington, from Steak and Ale House Group, The Lazy Cow.
