Cardiff Council plans £9m community hub in Splott

A swimming pool threatened with closure could be replaced with a new pool as part of plans for a £9m community hub revealed by Cardiff council today.

Campaigners held protests after the council announced last year that Splott Pool would close to save the council £298,000 a year. The council agreed to keep the pool open while proposals were drawn up for an alternative solution.

The proposed hub will include a 25m swimming pool, full-service health club and changing facilities for indoor and outdoor use - as well as a multi-purpose community hall, flexible meeting spaces, training rooms and community café.

Plans also include a full range of community and partner services, such as a library and neighbourhood learning services.
