Ceviche owner to open second London site

Following the success of Peruvian restaurant Ceviche in Soho, restaurateur Martin Morales (pictured) is to open a second venue in the capital in Shoreditch. Orginally planned to be a second Ceviche, the restaurant will now be called Andina and will open on Redchurch Street in December.

The venue will again take its influence from Peruvian ‘picanterias’, traditional family run restaurants serving local people from breakfast through to dinner.

Dishes will include the likes of Kiwicha con Manzana y Membrillo (Andean highland breakfast grain, apple & quince), Pastel de Choclo con Huevos (corn cake with poached eggs), Empanada de Alpaca (lean alpaca meat pastie), and Ensalada Quechua con Sacha Inchi (Andean bean & greens salad with Sacha Inchi nut oil); and for dinner choices include Seco de Cordero (braised lamb, coriander & dark beer stew) and Cod cheeks and Hake Tiradito (cod cheeks in tiger's milk with hake, mandarin & red grapefruit).

Andina will feature a ‘games room’ above the main dining area which will be used for private dining and cooking master classes as well as housing Morales’ (a former DJ) collection of more than 2,000 Peruvian funk records.

Additionally, a dedicated Ceviche Bar will also feature in the lower floor dining area alongside a Pisco and Chicha Bar where head barman Miguel Arbe and his team will create Peruvian pisco and Andean brew ‘chicha’ cocktails.
