Chartwells Independent secures two new contracts in London

Chartwells Independent, the educational division of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has successfully obtained two new three-year contracts with South Hampstead High School and Wimbledon High School. The financial details of the agreements remain undisclosed.

Both institutions are part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), the largest consortium of independent schools in the UK, collectively providing education for 20,000 girls annually.

As part of the collaboration, Chartwells Independent will deliver its Beyond The Chartwells Kitchen (BTCK) workshops to both schools. These workshops are designed to inspire young individuals to make positive decisions regarding food, nutrition, and overall well-being.

The announcement signifies a 'growing relationship' between Chartwells and GDST, building on previously established contracts with Brighton Girls in 2021 and Sutton High in April 2023.

Additionally, Chartwells has secured new partnerships with Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools in Edinburgh, St Paul's School in London, and St Edmund's College in Hertfordshire.

Meanwhile, the school catering company has successfully maintained contracts with Cambridge-based independent schools St Faith's School (for a total of 30 years) and the Leys School (for 40 years), as well as Chigwell School in Essex (for an impressive 53 years).

Noelle Jones, managing director at Chartwells Independent, said: 'We are delighted to announce our partnership with South Hampstead High School and Wimbledon High School, which is testament to our growing relationship with the GDST. We understand the critical role that food plays in enhancing the overall educational experience and we strive to partner with schools that share these core values. Our commitment goes beyond providing delicious and nutritious meals; it extends to fostering a culture of sustainability, innovation, and nutritional education, values that are shared by the GDST.

'These successes are testament to the hard work and commitment of our teams to delivering fantastic food and education to pupils across the UK every day.'
