Rosa’s Thai to open in Nottingham next month

Popular restaurant group, Rosa’s Thai is to open its much-anticipated Nottingham restaurant on Thursday 8 December, bringing its celebrated Thai dishes to 17 King Street in the heart of the city.

Positioned on a quiet street just a stone’s throw from the bustling Old Market Square and nestled among Nottingham’s famed theatres, the 58-cover restaurant is housed in a 19th century building where original features are mixed with contemporary details in Rosa’s signature style.

By day, the room is flooded with natural light, before transforming into a cosy and welcoming spot as the evenings draw in. Spilling on the historic street are a further eight covers for guests to dine al fresco during the warmer months.

Rosa’s Thai’s signature dishes are made using the best of Thai produce, including chilli pastes from Saiphin in the Huai Yod district and rice noodles from a 3rd generation family business that has made noodles for over 80 years.

Menu highlights include familiar Thai dishes including fan-favourite pad Thai and comforting green curry, as well as Rosa’s cult favourites from drunken noodles to stir-fried aubergine with yellow bean sauce, chilli, soy sauce & sweet basil.

The menu offers plenty of meat-free options for vegetarian and vegan diners, from fluffy sweetcorn cakes with kaffir lime to rich butternut red curry with sweet basil - best enjoyed with Rosa’s Thai’s bestselling range of bubble teas and Thai-inspired cocktails.

Rosa’s Thai also offers a dedicated children’s menu and a varied selection of halal and gluten-free dishes which, complete with Rosa’s signature Thai hospitality, makes the restaurant a welcoming, go-to environment for all dietary requirements.

And to ring in the festive season, for the 12 days following the opening, Rosa’s Thai Nottingham will be treating all guests who book a table to a complimentary drink of their choice.

Diners can enjoy this alongside the 3-course Christmas feasting menu designed for sharing, with dishes including larb patties served with tamarind dipping sauce; duck and pineapple red curry; and crispy pork belly stir fry followed by som tum brownie with coconut ice cream - the ultimate Christmas indulgence.

Of the launch, CEO Gavin Adair said, “After another great year for the Rosa’s Thai family, we couldn’t be happier to be ending on a high with the launch of Nottingham. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone from the local community just in time for the festive season.”

Rosa’s Thai started as a market stall on London’s Brick Lane in 2007, where renowned Thai chef Saiphin Moore served up her time-honoured family recipes to hungry lunchtime crowds.

A year later, Saiphin opened the first Rosa’s Thai restaurant in Spitalfields, just around the corner from the market stall. The launch of Rosa’s Thai York marks the 31st opening for the group, which currently serves Saiphin’s vibrant and fresh Thai dishes to diners in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, York and Liverpool.
