The Cocktail Club opens 16th venue in Birmingham

The Cocktail Club, formerly known as London Cocktail Club, has opened its 16th and biggest site to date on Birmingham's Temple Street in the city centre.

The new flagship venue is the biggest to date with a capacity of 450, set across two floors and three rooms. The bar’s ‘World’s Hottest Happy Hour’ runs seven days a week, offering 2-4-1 on every drink until 8pm daily. Party packages are also available, with guests able to book cocktail masterclasses alongside private room and venue hire.

As well as an ‘outrageous’ 00’s Bottomless Brunch which will run every Saturday daytime, offering guests the ‘ultimate weekend party’ with a jam-packed day of ‘freaky throwbacks, mega mischief and all-round f*ckery’.

Designed by award-winning, British interior designer Matthew Williamson, who is known predominantly for his unique use of pattern and colour.

Williamson has divided the space into 3 unique bars. The first of the three bars, The Temple Bar, holds a wooden cabana and a painting by German illustrator Olaf Hajek.

The Eden Bar (pictured) features hanging gardens, deep green tones, wallpaper from Divine Savages and a 1970s London Zoo cheetah centrepiece which is lit inside and hung above a seven metre-long bar.

For the intimate Star Bar, Matthew has used his own star-studded Celestia wallpaper, featuring midnight blue velvet tones and touches of antique mirror and golden brass.

Matthew said, “I’ve loved every minute of working on this project. From a raw shell of a space to the glamorous finished interior, it’s been hard work but a great creative process. Working with The Cocktail Club has been a pleasure and I’m really proud of the results.

'My brief was to respect their well-known brand identity and philosophy whilst injecting some of my own personal interior design style. I hope I’ve struck the right balance and the bar becomes a much loved hot spot in such a vibrant city.'

The brand's concept was initially conceived by John James ‘JJ’ Goodman and James Hopkins. JJ was crowned the winner of the World’s Best Bartender award at the 2008 Cocktail World Cup.

JJ said, “It's safe to say I’m so excited to finally be launching The Cocktail Club in my hometown of Birmingham. Not only is it our biggest site to date but our collaboration with Matthew Williamson is sure to make it stand out even more.

'The Cocktail Club is all about giving guests a good time and a wild night out. Our mantra is ‘welcome to the party’, and we’re certain we can deliver this to Birmingham in full!'
