Valor Hospitality appoints new operations director

Valor Hospitality Partners has appointed Michael Magrane as its new operations director. He will join Mark Thacker and Ed Cross to oversee the running of the 37 hotels in the international hotel management company’s UK portfolio.

With over 25 years’ experience in the hotel and hospitality industry, including two years as chief operating officer at Leaf Hospitality, Magrane brings a wealth of expertise to the position.

His role will be centred around driving operational excellence across the portfolio, which more than doubled in size over the course of the past year after 17 IHG hotels, the Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh and two luxury properties that are currently in development, were placed under its management.

Magrane will also be helping to develop talent within the business, something which Valor prides itself on through its in-house Future Leaders programme.

Magrane commented, “I wanted to join Valor as it is an incredibly g on his appointment, Michaewell-respected business within the hospitality industry, especially in relation to the great culture the team has created. People really are at the heart of what they do, and you can feel that through every interaction with the team.

“Couple that with Valor’s exceptional growth over the past year, the business is doing everything right and is clearly headed in an amazing direction, something that I’m really looking forward to being a part of.”

Brian McCarthy, managing director of UK and Europe at Valor Hospitality, said, “It’s definitely an exciting time to be joining Valor, with our expanded portfolio and new development projects in the pipeline, we’re always looking to strengthen our team with incredible talent, so we can continue to take our business to the next level.

'We’re confident that Michael will help us to do just that and that he’ll be an invaluable asset to the Valor family.”

Valor Hospitality’s global portfolio includes 85 hotels, covering IHG, Marriott, Hilton and independent luxury brands.
