Curzon opens new multplex in Camden

The independent cinema group, Curzon has opened its latest cinema within Camden Market Hawley Wharf’s historic railway arches.

The 6,000 sq ft landmark venue consists of five separate theatres, each with 30 seats. The cinema was designed by Takero Shimazaki Architects, who also worked with Curzon on their iconic Bloomsbury location.

The Camden cinema has a menu to suit its fun, New York jazz bar inspired design, with pizzas, hot dogs, small plates, and milkshakes, alongside a full drinks selection.

Philip Knatchbull, CEO at Curzon, said, “We are so excited to have opened our landmark location at Camden Market Hawley Wharf. The dynamic and unique space mirrors the atmosphere and character of Curzon, and sitting at the heart of this new cultural hub for one of London’s most iconic towns is a great step for us, and a positive one for the cinema industry as a whole.”

Curzon leads the leisure offer at Camden Market Hawley Wharf, adding a unique experience to the destination. It joins dozens of independent and branded stores, and several food and beverage operators, enhancing the independent eco-system in which people can visit, work, live and socialise.

Jonny Perkins, Retail Asset Manager at LabTech, which owns Camden Market, said, “The opening of Curzon marks a really exciting time for Camden Market Hawley Wharf. It is at the centre of our leisure offering, and the vibe that Curzon creates suits Camden to a tee.

'This opening not only highlights the variety on offer at the destination, but also exactly what Camden Market Hawley Wharf is; a place where families and friends can come together and enjoy unique experiences.”
