Aldi meets demand with 8 new rosé wines as part of Autumn Winter range

Rosé wine, a drink usually associated with summer, is set to make waves this winter as its meteoric rise is predicted to continue by supermarket Aldi. Meeting consumer demand, Aldi has just unveiled eight new premium rosé wines as part of its Autumn Winter range, which are available online and in stores now.

Sales of rosé wine increased by 22% in 2020, and love for the tipple shows no signs of slowing. As wine connoisseurs and every day shoppers alike opt to pucker up to the pink stuff, Aldi has cemented its reputation as a destination for great rosé wine, resulting in an increase of 72% in value growth over the last two years.

Last year saw strong rosé wine sales throughout the winter months, with Aldi even launching a supermarket-first Prosecco Rosé in October 2020. With a bottle of rosé flying off shelves every six seconds, the nation’s favourite wine supermarket is expecting this year to be a similar story.

Sam Caporn, Mistress of Wine, said, “Gone are the days of associating rosé with summer and I’m excited for shoppers to experience the beautiful pink plonk all year round! Aldi has really set the bar with its premium rosé offering, boasting delicious wines from across the globe.

'As the nights draw in, opt for rosés with a darker hue such as the Mimo Moutinho Portuguese Rosé or Specially Selected Chilean Organic Rosé, as these will offer more substance and richness that will pair well with warm winter foods.”
