The Gatherers to welcome Hell’s Kitchen star for unmissable kitchen takeover

The Gatherers, Norwich’s pioneering plant-based restaurant, is set to welcome Josie Clemens, the first-ever vegan chef to take part in Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, for a two-night menu takeover.

Taking place on 17 and 18 August, Clemens, who filmed 'Hell's Kitchen: Young Guns' back in 2019 when she was 22, will take guests on a culinary journey, demonstrating her fine-dining talents and presenting exciting plant-based dishes utilising locally sourced produce.

Clemens was one of 18 contestants, all under 24, to feature on the show — set to air on ITV this summer. Her manager Will Callaghan said The Gatherers collaboration came about because of the restaurant’s menu — shown to him by a fellow vegan friend — which made a huge impression.

Since opening in 2020, The Gatherers, owned by chef Daniel Farrow, has been lauded for its inventive European dishes along with pushing the boundaries when it comes to plant-based cuisine.

With the restaurant attracting chefs from across the pond, Clemens’ menu takeover is no doubt the first of many exciting collaborations to come in the future, and once again showcases The Gatherers as one of the world’s most inventive plan-based restaurants.

Centred on good food, made with top notch ingredients, that just so happens to be vegan, The Gatherers has become a hub for plant-based innovation in the city.

The Gatherers menu has a strong European influence, incorporating the flavours of France, Spain and Italy; resulting in inclusive dishes that are authentic, homely, and rich in flavour and history. Think risottos, ragouts and cassoulets that appeal to the masses, and not just to vegans.
