The Bok Shop on track to open two sites in 8 weeks

The Bok Shop, free range fried chicken and vegan fried 'chikn' restaurant that originated in Brighton, embarks on its mission to open two new brand-new locations in the South East in just eight weeks.

Having secured investment for 10 further sites, the pair are opening their next two locations this summer, in just 8 weeks. They’ll be bringing contemporary twists on nostalgic street style food with influences from Asia, Southern USA and London.

The new locations will feature all the favourites that fans have come to love, like the Bokadoosh, wings or tenders smothered in a fiery Korean style sauce, or the Jennifer Buffalopez, crispy fried thigh, covered in sweet honey and ginger buffalo sauce.

The first of the new sites bursts onto the scene in Hastings at the end of July, bringing fried chicken flavour to the heart of the BMX community. The Bok Shop’s Hastings location will be based out of Source Park, the iconic home of the annual and world famous ‘Battle of Hastings’ BMX event.

Here, they are combining their signature playful aesthetic with the community’s history, filling the walls with images from Source Park legends past, as well as displaying some of the iconic bikes that put Hastings on the BMX map. Creating a go-to spot for bikers and chicken lovers alike, this new location will become a community must-visit in no time!

After this four week sprint, The Bok Shop hits the road and heads to Southampton, where the following month will be spent kitting out their next project based in the hugely popular West Quay shopping centre.

Positioned amongst established brands like Byron Burger, Yo! Sushi, and Wagamamas, The Bok Shop is ready to reinvigorate the casual dining scene by integrating an old-school style arcade within its eatery, making it the most desirable spot in town to grab some food and play some retro games.

With a massive giveaway in the works for the Southampton opening in late August, The Bok Shop will be giving away free chicken or chikn wings to the first 100 people through the door.

Co-founder Jamie O’Mara speaks of their journey so far, “Things are seriously looking up since last year. We’ve gone from not knowing if we’d ever open our restaurant doors again to opening two new ones in just a few weeks of each other.

'As we’ve designed the restaurants ourselves, this part of the journey has been a real creative and technical test and we’ve loved every second of it.”

Co-founder Howard Kaye added, “we’re ready to take The Bok Shop to the next level and are so excited to be opening in Hastings and Southampton’s West Quay this summer.”

Keep up with their journey and get a feel for the action by catching their documentary ‘How To Build a Restaurant in 8 Weeks’, produced internally, that captures the dedication and spirit of these two entrepreneurs as they expand their brand further.
