Mowgli to open 13th site this summer in Cheltenham

The home of Indian street food, restaurant chain Mowgli, is to open at Cheltenham's The Brewery Quarter this summer, sitting next to The Botanist and opposite The Alchemist.

After a meteoric expansion from its first opening in Liverpool just six years ago, this opening will be Mowgli's lucky number thirteen. The 2,660 sqft site will house approx. 80 covers.

The Mowgli ethos is based on how Indians eat at home and on their streets and the Mowgli menu is a far cry from the stereotypical curry. The simple dishes convey the truth that real Indian food is extremely healthy, often vegan or plant based and always packed with fresh flavour and vitality.

Nisha Katona, founder of Mowgli, said, “Out of the ashes of a decimated 2020 we hope to raise this sweet fledgling Indian home kitchen in The Brewery Quarter. I have always been a fan of Cheltenham.

'To be able to take Mowgli there, to create 30 jobs, to find and support a local charity there makes me so proud. We exist to enrich the life in the places we go to – Cheltenham I hope we make you proud.”

Nikki Kontarines, Asset Manager of Martin Commercial Properties, Managing Agents of The Brewery Quarter, said, “We are delighted to welcome Mowgli to The Brewery Quarter.

'Following Cineworld’s multimillion pound refurbishment and extension, the recent opening of The Alchemist, Escape Rooms and F45 – and with the award- winning Hubbox also opening its doors this year – we continue to demonstrate that we are the perfect choice for new and expanding brands within the leisure and retail sectors.”
