Costa sets out lockdown 2 arrangements

Christmas has officially launched at Costa Coffee and after an incredibly challenging year, which continues to dramatically impact our lives, how we work and where and when we can socialise.

During this second lockdown, stores in England will stay open for takeaway, Drive-Thru, Mobile Ordering service from the Costa Coffee app, and delivery, via Uber Eats. In line with Government guidelines, all eat-in and outdoor seating areas have been closed.

Costa is adapting how it operates within the stores:
• The number of customers entering a store at one time will be restricted depending on the store size.
• There are designated pick-up points for delivery and mobile order collections and these pick-up points are being sanitised after every visit.
• There is clear floor signage to support all social distancing guidelines when queuing both inside and outside the store.
• Once inside customers are asked to continue to use the hand sanitiser stations and only one customer will be allowed to the counter at a time, where there are Perspex screens installed.
• Costa has enhanced hygiene procedures in place and teams are washing their hands at least every 30 minutes.
• It will continue to accept contactless and cash payments, as well as both physical Costa Coffee Club cards and the app, and it is accepting reusable cups in stores and rewarding those customers with a 25p discount on any handcrafted drink.

CEO Jill McDonald said, 'As ever, I remain extremely grateful to our store teams, our partners and suppliers for continuing to adapt to ongoing changes to the way we work, helping us bring some festive cheer this Christmas, whilst keeping everyone safe.'
