BrewDog to open 104th bar with drive-thru & beer museum

Scottish craft brewery and bar group, BrewDog has announced it will be opening its 104th bar, DogTap Ellon, this Saturday 17 October, which will be without alcohol inline with new Scottish guidelines. The bar will feature BrewDog’s range of Alcohol Free beers including Punk AF, Lost AF and cult favourite Nanny State.

The bar is the biggest it has opened in its native Scotland, and will play host to a BrewDog drive through, beer library, and the UK’s first beer museum.

The newest edition to BrewDog’s growing bar division will be home to two bars, with 33 taps of outstanding beers from BrewDog, and guest breweries to choose from, once its bars have resumed serving alcohol.

Visitors familiar with the BrewDog bar food, will be glad to see firm favourites including its wings, burgers, and host of vegan options return, alongside some new additions to the menu, including oak fired chicken, and delicious wood fired pizza. As well as brunch and cocktails on weekends.

Those looking to spend the day at the Ellon site won’t be disappointed, as the DogTap Ellon will also play host to a shuffleboard, live stream to deliver all the action from inside the mash tuns, and for the beer geeks, a huge beer library ?with hundreds of books, giving beer geeks a chance to learn more about all things beer.

The UK’s first beer museum will include a series of exhibits including the history of beer, an overview of the brewing process as well as an indepth look at the production process. Visitors will also have the chance to watch the process live, via a stream from the BrewDog brewery.

For customers in need of grab-and-go options, Dog Tap Ellon will have a Drive Thru serving up hoppy meals, and takeaway options via BrewDog Now, and the site’s five take away fridges.

James Watt, co founder of BrewDog commented, “This might seem like a crazy time to open a new bar but we are so excited about what our new Dog Tap at BrewDog HQ has to offer, we can’t wait to welcome our community through our doors.

'This is time to take it back to where it all began, bringing our DogTap Ellon back bigger and better than ever. We didn’t want to wait to share the space so we have chosen to open without our beers on offer.

'We’ve taken it up a notch, to give craft beer fans the ultimate experience, from the BrewDog Drive Thru, to our unbelievable food menu, and the 33 beer taps with beers from across the globe.

'If that wasn’t enough, we’ve opened our first UK beer museum on the site too, giving more customers the chance to learn all about our beers at the heart of our brewery.”

The launch of Dog Tap Ellon will be the BrewDog’s 18th Scottish bar, and 104th globally since opening its first bar in Aberdeen in 2010. The brewers expansion plans show no sign of slowing with the recent launch of its final crowdfunding raise Equity Punks Tomorrow. As it looks to ?raise a maximum of £50M to fund green infrastructure across its global business. For more information, and to invest click here.
