Opso to launch summer terrace this week

This July, Greek restaurant Opso will bring a slice of Athenian opulence to Marylebone’s dining scene, with the launch of The Opso summer terrace.

This intimate space will focus on transporting diners to the streets of Athens via an all-new summer menu and selection of Greek wines perfectly suited for warmer weather.

Launching this Wednesday 16 July, The Opso dining terrace winds its way around the restaurant and features intimate tables for two, four and six diners, seating a maximum of 40.

To inaugurate the new space, the Opso team will invite guests to dine on a new menu of modern Greek dishes including homemade delicacies, traditional Greek recipes and a raw bar whilst the bar team serve up ice-cold glasses of refreshing Greek sparkling wines, Rosé and signature cocktails.

Guests are invited to start their meal with a selection of cold dishes from The Raw bar. A daily catch is used by the Chefs, which you can choose to enjoy as Opso Sashimi with thyme and lemon bitters or as Greek Ceviche. To follow delicacies from the Opso larder include homemade spreads - tzatziki, fava and taramas – Opso’s take on the classic Cod’s Roe dish, served with squid ink oil.

The restaurant also features a strong selection of vegetarian dishes – made with seasonal produce from both specialist suppliers in Greece and UK producers.

On the menu is Dakos Salad – a colourful combination of cherry tomatoes, capers, barrel-matured feta, Kalamata olives and traditional Kytherian olive oil rusks and the Grilled Lettuce charred on the grill and finished with Cretan buttermilk.

Those looking for traditional flavours shouldn’t miss the Opso Mousakas - grilled aubergine, slow braised beef ragu and béchamel sauce.

Dishes from Opso’s summer menu are paired with a selection of summery wines from famous Greek winemaking regions - including Santorini Assyrtiko and Xinomavro from Naoussa. Those looking for something a little stronger are invited to cool off with cocktails infused with Mediterranean flavours including their Lemon Tree Mojito and Seaside Martini.

For those unable to make it to the restaurant – the team have also recently introduced Opso at Home. Centred around a special menu of home-cooked authentic Greek dishes, this new collection and delivery initiative reflects the favourite childhood memories of the executive chefs / co-owners Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos.

Available to order via the Opso website it features seasonal dishes such as Chicken Lemonato - Roasted chicken thigh with lemon-oregano gravy and creamy potato mash; Beef Stifado - Braised beef shin with onions and sweet onion gravy; and Spanakorizo - Spinach rice pilaf with fresh herbs and barrel matured feta cheese.

Suited for two or more, the delivery menu is also available throughout the week delivered to doorsteps in Marylebone and nearby neighbourhoods.

Reservations can be made for the new terrace via the Opso website (weather permitting).
