In lieu of the local pub being open, Camden Town Brewery wants to help keep the community spirit alive, so it's giving its Brewery Bar a digital makeover.
Camden Town Brewery’s first virtual venture, The Camden Bre.www.ery Bar is a space where lager lovers can enjoy an IRL pint in a URL venue. The group is lining up a packed schedule of weekly events, kicking off with a pub quiz today (Thursday 26 March), at 7pm.
Hosted by Camden quiz master, comedian Josh Weller, the pub quiz will take place live on our Instagram. Featuring five rounds, players best have their general knowledge on tap to be in with a chance of winning the freshest of prizes - Hells Lager delivered straight to their door.
The group will be putting the quiz out on its Instagram stories soon after the live rendition is finished, so they can play catch up.
The company has even set up The Camden Bre.www.ery Bar ‘digital tip jar’ through JustGiving to raise money for Hospitality Action’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund. The emergency fund enables Hospitality Action to make a one-off grant to eligible workers suddenly facing hardship, supporting our friends in the hospitality sector during these uncertain times.
It’s the great pubs up and down the country that has made Camden Town Brewery what it is today, so it also be taking donations through the web shop, and matching all donations made by Camden fans.
Founder Jasper Cuppaidge said, “We might not be able to enjoy a pint at our favourite pub right now, so we’ve launched the next best thing, our Bre.www.ery Bar! We started Camden in the basement of a pub, and it’s the pubs, restaurants, bars and teams up and down the country that have made Camden Town Brewery what it is today.
'So we are doing our best to re-create the British pub culture in this new reality, by bringing people together and offering all the fun of the pub in your own home, while supporting the hospitality industry when they need us the most. Grab a beer, and see you at the Bre.www.ery Bar!”
Mark Lewis, Chief Executive of Hospitality Action, said, “We’ve been so touched by the sense of community within the hospitality industry during the coronavirus crisis, with brands like Camden Town Brewery really stepping up to help the industry. Pubs, bars and restaurants across the country are suffering significantly so we’ve created the COVID-19 Emergency Grant, a way of helping hospitality workers get through the next few months.”
