New MD for Camden Town Brewery

Camden Town Brewery today announces the appointment of Adam Keary as the brewery’s Managing Director, following a promotion from Sales Director.

In partnership with Founder & CEO Jasper Cuppaidge (pictured right), Keary (left) has overseen Camden Town Brewery’s 216% sales growth over the past three years.

Keary will bring a wealth of experience, internal knowledge and accomplishments to his new role, which include doubling the size of the brewery’s sales team and showing great success with the off-trade through launching in the top four grocers and extending Camden’s presence with Waitrose and M&S.

As Managing Director, Keary will be responsible for maintaining the momentum of Camden’s growth, strengthening all pillars of the business, and overseeing the breweries in Enfield and Camden. He will do this whilst ensuring the brand stays true to the original values that have helped make the ‘Home of Hells’ one of the fastest growing breweries in the UK.

Prior to joining Camden Town Brewery, Keary’s experience spanned across some of the world’s biggest corporations such as Nestle and Heinz, and fast-growing disruptive brands including Nespresso, Nudie and Joseph Joseph. At the latter companies, Adam was responsible for tripling company revenues at each business to help transform these premium brands into category-leaders.

Keary replaces the brewery’s previous Managing Director Luca Lorenzoni, who recently left the company to pursue new ventures.

The appointment follows a fantastic year for Camden Town Brewery, where it has:
• Won big at the World Beer Championships with four category wins, plus a gold and silver commendation, making Camden Town Brewery the most awarded British Brewery at this year’s prestigious beer awards
• Secured listing and pouring agreements with the major on-trade groups, plus Arsenal Football Club and thousands of leading new and existing premium on-trade hospitality specialists
• Launched its ‘Fresh as Hells’ media campaign that reached over 6 million people across the country
• Recruited 63 new employers into its 200-strong Beer Team
• Given the original brewery in Camden a £1m revamp ahead of further investment into the brewery tap room, due to start in June 2020
• Increased the capacity to over 300 Hectolitres in Camden’s ‘Home of Hells’ brewing facility in Enfield, North London
• Had a record sell-out of its annual Tank Party, where tickets were gone in under 2 and a half hours

Keary commented, “This is a very exciting time for Camden, so naturally I am delighted to take on the role of Managing Director. Our ambition for the future is massive and I’m looking forward to realising this next phase of growth with our fantastic beer team and network of domestic and international customers.”

Founder Jasper Cuppaidge said, “Adam is awesome to work with and every day the company benefits from the aspiration, rigour and strategy that he brings to his role. His achievements at Camden Town Brewery speak for themselves.

'He’s been at the centre of our incredible growth, his team have secured core listings and built hugely important relationships with some of the UK’s biggest and best on and off trade outlets.

'Adam has done all this while keeping us true to our core values and mission to become the UK’s favourite lager brewery. I’m looking forward to seeing how the next chapter of Camden’s story unfolds with Adam’s expertise, guidance and ambition at the heart of the business.”
