Cheshire inn undergoes multi-million-pound revamp

In the Cheshire village of Malpas, The Red Lion is currently closed for a multi-million-pound refurbishment, which is well underway and will be completed by February 2020.

After standing empty for several years, the inn is being extended to more than three times its current floor space and completely remodelled with a luxurious function suite and external courtyard.

Further works on the site include the refurbishment of a Grade II-listed Tudor cottage to house three guest bedrooms and breakfast room facilities. Opposite the cottage, a new development of 13 bedrooms is also being built.

When reopened, the pub will serve a fresh food menu, comprising some of the British classics, dishes with a contemporary twist and daily specials.

The Red Lion is managed by 16 Hospitality, an independent hospitality group operating unique and characterful premium restaurants in the North West of England and North Wales.
