Admiral Taverns growth plan sees Head of Property appointment

As Admiral Taverns continues its ambitious investment programme to develop and build its portfolio, the pub group has boosted its Property Division with a new Head of Property and two regional surveyors.

Andrew Hallam has become Head of Property and comes to the firm with over 25 years’ industry experience having previously been a Director at HHPC.

Previously he also held a number of senior positions in the property team at Mitchells and Butlers, and more recently led the property team at Tesco Stores PLC, where he was responsible for property development and acquisitions within their Hospitality Division.

Hallam said, ‘I’m looking forward to joining Admiral at this exciting phase in the Group’s development having been impressed with the transformation of their estate in recent years.

'Having spent over ten years working alongside managed pubs and restaurants I’m really looking forward to working in the tenanted sector, helping the team to champion sustainable community pubs and the licensees behind them.”

Led by the group’s Property and Strategy Director, Andy Clifford, Admiral has made a series of recent investments in its Property Division, underpinning the firm’s ambitious growth and investment plans for its estate of circa 800 community pubs.

Clifford said, “On behalf of the whole team I’d like to welcome Andrew to the Group. He brings with him a great breadth of leisure and consumer retail property expertise which will be invaluable as we continue to deliver on our ambitious investment programme for our estate, which has seen us invest over £8m in our last financial year and over £25m over the last 3 years.”

Alongside Hallam, who will report directly into Clifford, further additions to the Group’s surveying team include regional surveyors, Sally Sheil and Phil Hoddinott.
