Club Mexicana celebrates end of Pamela residency with month long feast

This December, Club Mexicana - purveyor of London’s best vegan street food - is throwing a month long feast and one-off all-you-can-eat Taco Party to mark the end of its year long residency at Dalston’s Pamela.

True to founder Meriel Armitage’s ‘no chickpeas and chia seeds’ mantra, the winter blowout will be decked out with kick-ass Mexican inspired dishes, Club Mexicana classics, and free flowing festive cocktails to see out 2017 with a bang.

Saying adios in style, 20 December will see the Club Mexicana Taco Party host the most loved Tacos from Armitage’s residency, plus a few surprises. As is essential at this time of year, tacos will be ‘all you can eat’ and will include the Baja to-fish with pickled cabbage & salsa verde, and the Jackfruit Carnita, with charred mango salsa, pico de gallo and red kohlrabi, with a specially-created Club Mexicana pudding being dished up for those who can manage dessert.

For those who can’t make it to the party, Armitage has created a winter tasting menu, including small plates of Esquites & Totopos, charred sweet corn with puffed fried masa ‘parmesan’, King Oyster Scallops and Chick’n Wings with hot sauce, sour cream and salsa verde.

Tacos, house made daily and best eaten with your hands, will see new additions from the Al Pastor; shawarma style ‘pork’ with pineapple to the fiery Carne Asada; 24-hour-marinated seitan with arbol chilli salsa, alongside Armitage’s signature creations and bigger plates of Blue Corn Quesadilla and Buttermilk Fried Chick’n Torta – the Mexico City fried chicken sandwich – completing the menu and available throughout December.

Armitage said, ‘Saying goodbye to Pamela will be the end of an era for us, we’ve absolutely loved being part of the family, and being able to feed so many new faces has been awesome. As it’s Christmas we wanted to have a proper knees up to see out our last month out in style – it’s going to be party vibes all December, but we’ll be back with more exciting things in the new year – watch this space!’
