Avenue brings the Hamptons to SW1

In celebration of summer finally arriving in London, the bar at D&D London’s Avenue restaurant in St James’, will be transformed into a Hamptons-themed escape.

Running from Wednesday 12 July until the end of August, ‘Avenue goes to the Hamptons’ will bring a range of fresh seafood dishes and seasonal cocktails to the glamourous bar, evocative of the glamourous East-Coast American resort.

In a playful nod to the famous seaside area, a popular summer getaway destination among wealthy New Yorkers, the bar will be adorned with pink flamingos and will offer a selection of specially crafted cocktails.

Ranging from the signature Life’s a Peach, which shakes Tanqueray 10 gin with hibiscus syrup, peach puree and Brotherhood sparkling Chardonnay from the New York state winery, to the fruity Frozen Watermelon Martini, a blend of Ketel One vodka and vanilla liqueur, fresh lime and watermelon, each mix is set to transport guests from Mayfair to the sunny shores of Long Island’s East End.

Throughout the Hamptons residency, Bar Manager, Chris Calvert, will be hosting cocktail masterclasses alongside the team from Tanqueray, the main sponsor for the pop-up, with further details to be announced in due course.

To complement the refreshing serves, the new bar food menu will offer a selection of coastal US classics to showcase dishes synonymous with the Hamptons, while using the best of UK produce. Diners can enjoy Lobster Rolls comprising lobster meat and aioli, peppers and bibb lettuce served in a hotdog-style bun, and Dressed Crab with avocado alongside freshly shucked Jersey oysters dressed in a mignonette sauce.

With refreshing cocktails, the freshest seafood and a sense of summer injected to the interiors, Avenue will be channelling the Hamptons laid-back beach cool in London’s own St James’.
