Gravity raises £5m for expansion

Trampoline park business, Gravity Fitness has raised £5m from Guinness Asset Management to double its number of sites to eight this year.

Since opening the first – Xscape Yorkshire in Castleford, in 2015 – three more parks have been launched, in Hull, Norwich and Maidstone.
They offer fitness classes, parent and toddler events, parties and sessions for disability groups.

It has 220 employees and turned over £7.5 million last year. Gravity is targeting revenues of £20 million within two years through expanding by opening at four new locations, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milton Keynes and a flagship park at Bluewater, Kent.

The company was founded by entrepreneurs Harvey Jenkinson and Michael Harrison in 2014.

‘We are looking at capitalising on the huge growth potential across the UK and establishing ourselves as the No.1 branded trampoline park operator in the UK,’ says Jenkinson.

BSI, the British standards body, introduced a specification for trampoline parks last month to address safety concerns.
