Amazon eyes food delivery service launch in London

Amazon is considering launching Amazon Restaurants service in London, which would mean the online delivery giant would be going head-to-head with Deliveroo, Uber, Just Eat and Hungry House.

Already rolled out across eight US cities, including San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Austin, and Portland, Amazon Restaurants allows customers to order food from the menus of partner restaurants via the Prime Now app for one-hour delivery.

Amazon has apparently been approaching a number of London’s leading restaurants, many of whom are already listed on Deliveroo and more recently Uber’s UberEats service, in an attempt to sign them up.
