Zizzi to open at Hull shopping complex

Italian chain Zizzi is opening a restaurant at St Stephen's Shopping Centre in Hull as work starts on a new food and leisure terrace.

The retail complex is converting the former floor Gala bingo hall, which has lain empty for several years, into four separate units.

Zizzi will join Gravity which is opening a new trampoline park on the terrace later this summer.

Centre manager Jim Harris said, 'We are looking to provide a brand new area for food and leisure aimed at the post-6pm market. We want to create a buzz in the city which we haven't had for years. It is time we really started driving the nighttime economy forward. Whether shopping centres, cafes, pubs or theatres, we all need to work together to achieve this.'

St Stephen's has proved a huge success since opening in 2007 and has already attracted key brands such as Starbucks, Nando's, Tesco, Next and Topshop.
