Soho’s oldest Italian deli set to expand site & launch new menu

This July, Lina Stores, the Italian delicatessen in the heart of London’s Soho, will be expanding their existing outdoor seating area and installing a dining counter in the shop’s window to allow for further dining space meaning more guests will be able to enjoy Lina Stores’ authentic Italian homemade food at their leisure.

Tying in with the launch, the deli will also be unveiling their brand new food and drink menu, available throughout the day until evening to accommodate Soho’s hungry diners.

This is an exciting new chapter for Soho’s oldest Italian deli – which was established in 1944 - as it was previously only able to offer dine-in lunch to a limited number of diners seated outdoors (although it has been providing the inhabitants and workers of Soho with a vast range of takeaway options for many years).

Thanks to the works, due to be completed by the end of June, Lina Stores will be increasing its dining space, offering indoor seating for four. There will also be further al fresco dining on Greens Court for up to twelve making it the ideal spot for the summer months.

Long-established favourites such as focaccia, frittata, arancini, cakes and freshly-prepared panini will of course remain, but the menu will feature a selection of new authentic Italian dishes on rotation which will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The menu will include a breakfast offering with dishes including the Frittata Di Prima Colazione (breakfast frittata), Crostatina Alla Marmellata (jam-filled shortbread tart) and Ciambelline (doughnuts) filled with either blueberry, raspberry, strawberry or cream.

Also making their debut are Duck Ragu and Lamb Ragu alongside a number of delicious sauces and a selection of wholesome salads, with pasta, leaf, rice and grain-based options.

The classic hot pasta dishes including Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, Pasta All'Amatriciana and Parmigiana Di Melanzane that have been popular for many years will be joined by Cannelloni, as well as Italian favourites Panna Cotta and Tiramisù for dessert.

The famous homemade fresh pasta will continue to be cooked to order daily by Pasta Chef Gianni, who will also be increasing the existing range of varieties. Some special dishes and cold platters have been designed especially for the outdoor tables.

Hot and cold drinks will also be available, including the very best Italian coffee, as well as a short cocktail list which will include Italian classics such as the Negroni and Cynar Spritz, and a small selection of wines and Prosecco for guests to enjoy indoors or, sunshine permitting, al fresco in the summer.
