Dominvs Group submit plans for £30m Oxford hotel

Dominvs Group has officially submitted plans to Oxford City Council for a new £30m hotel and microbrewery in the city centre.

The new hotel will consist of 145-bedrooms and will be located on Paradise Street at the site of the Cooper Callas building which lies vacant and the former ‘Brewery Gate’ public house.

The Dominvs Group, whose aim is to build a premium portfolio in the UK hospitality sector, came up with the plans in earlier this year but have since made several changes following a public consultation. Dominvs Group said the height of the hotel has now been lowered and a number of significant cutbacks have been made to the massing of the building.

Preetpal Ahluwalia, hospitality portfolio director, Dominvs Group, said: “We are extremely pleased to finally be in a position to have submitted our plans to Oxford City Council. These proposals have been carefully developed over the past year and our finalised plans have taken on board the feedback that we received from the local community during the consultation process.”

If the scheme receives the green light from the council, it will provide a predicted 280 jobs during the construction phase.
