Welcome Break completes £1.7m refurbish at oldest site

Motorway services group, Welcome Break has completed a £1.7m refurbishment of the Days Inn Milton Keynes hotel at its Newport Pagnell site, located between Junction 14 and 15 of the M1.

The site, which was the first service station accessible to all traffic in the UK, has benefitted from a further £340k investment earlier this year, opening a Harry Ramsden outlet and a Subway.

The newly refurbished hotel boasts a selection of 87 bedrooms now all together in the main hotel complex, rather than in the separate building as they were before. There is a new lincensed bar area and communal recreation areas.

Rod McKie, CEO of Welcome Break said: “The refurbishment of our hotel at Newport Pagnell is the latest stage of our comprehensive 2015 investment programme which has also seen the launch of seven new food courts around the country, bringing the total number to 10.

“The Days Inn Milton Keynes hotel now provides customers with the warm, comfortable and rewarding experience that Welcome Break prides itself on and is the ideal place for tired travellers to stop off and enjoy some relaxation away from the motorway.”
