United Biscuits invests £10m in Jacobs Cream Cracker site

United Biscuits is investing £10m in improvements to its Jacob's Cream Cracker factory in Aintree, as it's set to become the group’s principal manufacturing site for savoury snacks.

The Jacob’s Aintree plant produces Cream Crackers, Mini Cheddars, Club biscuits and Twiglets, among many other lines.

Last year United Biscuits was acquired by Turkish bakery group Yildiz Holdings from private equity investors Blackstone and PAI Partners for £2bn. Yildiz is privately owned by the Ulker family, headed by Murat Ulker, Turkey’s richest man who has an estimated fortune of close to $4bn.
