Scottish village Spar changes hands

Spar Edzell, a profitable store in the picturesque village of Edzell, Scotland, has been been sold through Christia & Co.
.
The store has been owned and operated by Caroline Hamilton for over 12 years and came to the market as the she felt the right was time to pass it onto a new operator, with the shop in a healthy state.

The store has been purchased by Mr Sekar, who shared, “I was running a franchise business in Aberdeen when I came across an advertisement about the Spar in Edzell on the Christie & Co website.

'I approached Business Agen Liam Bain to discuss the possibility of buying this business and he was very helpful throughout. Stephen McConalogue, Associate Director at Christie Finance, gave his full support to arrange finance for my business.

Liam commented, “This was a fantastic opportunity to acquire a freehold business that is heavily replied on by the local community, with an offer being accepted weeks after it initial came to market. With its scope to increase turnover further, we would like to wish the new owner all the best.”

Stephen said, “I’m extremely pleased to have helped another first-time buyer achieve his dream of owning his first convenience store with market leading rates, not directly available from the high street lenders.”
