Pug Pubs puts Leicestershire inn up for sale

The Pug & Greyhound, a village inn, located in the heart of Great Glen, Leicestershire, is on the market through Christie & Co.

The inn, which overlooks the village green, has built an excellent reputation amongst the locals and visitors from the many surrounding Leicestershire villages for its homemade food, service and large beer garden.

The attractive free house is a Grade II-listed property that dates back more than 400 years and boasts a wealth of character. It was originally named The Old Greyhound and became the Pug & Greyhound when it was acquired by Pug Pubs in 2014.

The property comprises of two main buildings, with one housing the free house and two-bedroom owners’ accommodation, and the other featuring seven cosy letting bedrooms, refurbished in 2017.

James Buist-Brealey, Hospitality Business Agent at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale comments, “This is a fantastic opportunity for either an existing operator looking to add to their portfolio or a first-time buyer, to pick up a much-loved village pub in an affluent pocket of Leicestershire.

'The pub has become a hugely successful business since it was acquired by Pug Pubs in 2014, offering an exciting platform for the new operator to build on.”
