Crust Bros, London’s award-winning pizza restaurant, is set to launch its third site on Hildreth Street in Balham early next year.
Balham will be the third opening from Managing Director, Joe Moore, who opened Crust Bros’ first bricks-and-mortar site in Waterloo in 2017, followed by the second site at Sambrook’s Brewery Tap in Wandsworth in July of this year.
The 35-cover restaurant will serve Crust Bros’ classic Neapolitan pizzas alongside its signature personalised pizza menu, comprising a variety of bases, sauces and toppings for guests to customise their pizza as they wish. There will also be a 16-seater heated outdoor terrace for any guests wishing to dine al fresco.
Crust Bros is committed to creating some of London’s best, most consistent bases made entirely from scratch using 00 flour, fresh yeast and a 48 hour-proved dough, for pizzas characterised by their big, pillowy-soft, leopard print-charred crusts. These bases are then topped with some of the very best available ingredients from Italy and the UK, from San Marzano tomatoes and Neapolitan mozzarella, to salami and Calabrian ‘nduja, before being baked in a Neapolitan oven at 500 degrees.
Crust Bros was born in 2016 and is the brainchild of Joe Moore, a self-proclaimed “dough geek”, who quit his grad scheme job to search for the perfect pizza. A six-week tour of Italy cemented this passion and gave him the tools and necessary precision to make some of London’s very best pizza.
Years spent honing the craft on the street food scene in London led Joe to open his first restaurant in Waterloo in 2017, followed by Wandsworth in 2021. Since then, Crust Bros has served over a million pizzas and won gold at the National Pizza Awards, Salvo 1968 European Pizza Competition and Pizza and Pasta Awards.
And for every pizza sold at Balham, Crust Bros will plant a tree in partnership with sustainable business movement Earthly - at no extra cost to their customers. This is an extension of Crust Bros’ ‘1 pizza sold = 1 tree planted’ promise, launched in April 2021 to help tackle the climate crisis. To date, over 23,000 trees have been planted.
