Pepper Collective to open bar at Harvey Nichols next week

Next week will see the opening of Benjamin’s from The Pepper Collective, a luxurious 24-cover whisky bar nestled within Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, London.

The newest addition to London’s vibrant whisky and cocktail scene will boast over 100 whiskies by the dram or bottle, including the very rare Glengoyne 50 Year Old and Tamdhu 50 Year Old, as well as an exceptional cocktail list prepared by bartender Rik Patel - previously of Mayfair’s Magpie, the critically acclaimed Adam Handling and Cornerstone in Hackney.

Patel has used innovative modern mixology techniques, creating a fresh take on classic cocktails - while providing a contrast to the headier whiskey selection on offer - with the use of delicate house-made botanical cordials and floral notes.

The elegant Meadow Sweet Martini, a blend of hand foraged meadowsweet, Vodka and dry French vermouth is wonderfully perfumed and light; the Nettle Leaf Negroni made with nettle infused gin, Campari and sweet vermouth offers a clean, earthy take on the classic; whilst the Fig Leaf High Ball adds a touch of the Mediterranean with the use of Patel’s fig leaves cordial, scotch whiskey and soda.

A concise rotating wine list will feature guest tipples served by Coravin - allowing customers to explore a variety of wines by the glass - as well a craft beers, iconic vintage Champagnes & other notable sparkling wines, and coffee by speciality roasters Origin. Curated to complement the fine whiskey & cocktails on offer, a light daily small-plates menu will feature excellent charcuterie from reputable London producers such as Cobble Lane.

The bijou subterranean bar is tucked away in the exclusive menswear department of Harvey Nichols. Designed with comfort in mind with plush leather stools, low moody lighting and midnight blue tones - it provides an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the shop floor.

Paul Fleming, Managing Director, The Pepper Collective, said, “The Pepper Collective was designed to create and curate spaces which gives our guests a perfectly pitched experience. This fledgling partnership with Harvey Nichols is so exciting – we think the new space’s namesake, Mr Harvey, would have approved.”

Iain Mackenzie, Store Director, Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, said, “We are thrilled to be working with The Pepper Collective and their team on Benjamin’s. The new hospitality space will offer our Menswear department a stylish setting in which to enjoy fine whiskies, cocktails and small plates and we are delighted that Benjamin’s will become part of our luxury store experience.”
