£975k revamped Loch Fyne hotel for sale

The Creggans Inn, a fully refurbished hotel, situated in a stunning loch-side location in Strachur, Argyll and Bute, has come to market via Christie & Co, with a guide price of £975k.

Sitting just over an hour from the centre of Glasgow, and two hours and twenty minutes from Edinburgh, on the banks of Loch Fyne, the 14-bed hotel enjoys uninterrupted views of the loch and benefits from its close proximity to Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, which draw year-round tourists.

The hotel was previously owned by Sir Fitzroy Maclean and Lady Veronica Maclean, who purchased Strachur Estate, including the hotel, in 1957. Sir Fitzroy was an original member of the SAS and Winston Churchill’s personal representative in German-occupied Yugoslavia and is thought to have been an inspiration for the James Bond 007 character due to his close friendship with Ian Fleming.

The current owners, Archie and Gill MacLellan, have owned The Creggans Inn since June 2007, and have invested significantly to fully refurbish the historic property and build its reputation as a great place for food, drink and warm hospitality. The Inn has received multiple awards over the years.

Alistair Watt, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Hospitality team is handling the sale and commented, “This superbly trading boutique hotel is a great opportunity for a wide range of buyers. It would make a great purchase for a similar family or husband and wife team. We also expect it to appeal to a variety of first-time buyers due to the enviable lifestyle the location offers.”
