Bird House London, the team who opened The Hawk’s Nest, last summer, is set to launch its next venture, The Phoenix, in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, on 1 July.
This is the second site and project from Frazer Timmerman (Ex-Incipio Group and Truman Brewery) and Wil Fuller (Ex Soho House and Hippo Inns). Their aim is to open and operate a new generation of modern drinking and dining spaces in and around West London.
The Phoenix will open in the old Jamie’s Italian site, bringing a vibrant green English garden to the space and providing the ideal area for all-day-dining and post-shopping pick-me-ups.
The venue will hold 400 outside in their outdoor terrace making it the perfect space for large groups and parties after the easing of restrictions. The terrace will be open seven days a week from 11am until 1030pm with the capacity for another 250 people inside and a licence until midnight.
The huge space (CGI pictured) will be a new home for the delicious Italian street food and the pizzas the team have become famous for. Alongside the Neapolitan style sourdough pizzas there will also be foodie favourites like the aged onglet steak and skinny fries with chimichurri and some very serious salad boxes including the Levant Salad - Hummus, charred aubergines, pickled root veg, soft boiled egg, new potatoes & zatar - served with freshly made flatbreads.
Similar to The Hawk’s Nest, the bar will focus on freshly made shaken cocktails including Margaritas, Martinis and Spritz. The cocktail list will focus on Mezcal and Tequila paired with freshly juiced fruit, inspired by the team's recent trip to Mexico.
Dreamy drinks such as the sweet and smokey Pomegranate Mezcalita and zingy Passionfruit Mezcalita will feature. The menu is also full of summery mocktails like the Blueberry Smash and a broad range of low and no options.
Budvar Tank Beer (the original Czech Budweiser) will be delivered directly from the famous Czech Brewery weekly directly to the venue alongside a selection of London's best craft beers (Camden Pale, Neck Oil, Jubel Peach Beer).
There will be a busy roster of DJs, live music and entertainment with quizzes, comedy, singles nights and dancing taking place throughout the week.
