Fife-based The Cress Co has opened a dedicated new depot in Telford, Shropshire, to supply customers in Wales and the South West.
The new facility is the company's fourth depot providing its award-winning service, bringing ambient and chilled speciality, artisan foods to customers across the UK.
Formed in 2004, The Cress Co saw significant double-digit year-on-year growth in sales last year, with retail sales covering any gaps caused by the loss of foodservice orders.
The distributor’s latest catalogue reflects the change in shoppers’ demands. Chilled was a big growth area, along with more basics and storecupboard staples in 2020. These products sit alongside higher-end food and drink.
During 2020, the company welcomed 19 new suppliers.
