Gino DAcampo restaurant group saved by Iceland founder bail out

TV chef Gino D'Acampo's restaurant chain has reportedly been saved by Iceland founder, Sir Malcolm Walker, according to The Sun.

The group reported serious losses of almost £3m even before lockdown, and now Walker has stepped in with a major loan - believed to be several million - to keep it afloat.

D'Acampo's My Restaurant portfolio is part of the Individual Restaurant Group. The sites can be found across England: Camden, Euston Station, Harrogate, Hull, Leeds, The Springs Leeds, Liverpool, Corn Exchange Manchester, My Pizza & Prosecco Bar, and My Coffee & Deli Bar, Arndale Manchester.

The Individual Restaurant Group is operated by Iceland bosses and a friend of D'Acampo's, Stephen Walker.

Despite these setbacks, D'Acampo is apparently still looking to expand his chain beyond the UK.
